MUNOZ-ARROYAVE, Elkin Argiro. Territorialization Processes of Globalization through Tourism. Analyses of Global and Local Relations, Which Promote This Phenomenon. Ágora U.S.B. [online]. 2018, vol.18, n.2, pp.557-572. ISSN 1657-8031. https://doi.org/10.21500/16578031.3835.
Globalization is a social, economic, and political process that influences spaces, social relations and territories in contemporary terms. Flows and mobility are characteristics of this process, which are reflected in capital flows, information, migrants and tourists. All of them have consequences at the local level and are at the same time modified by this and other scales. The objective of this article is to analyze the ways in the intermediate tourism between the global and local scales, in a process that we could call of territorialization of globalization. It is concluded that tourism is one of the flows that best represents the multidimensionality of globalization and transforms territories, which reflect inequality and banality of the global consumerist, but that obtain local responses either from conflict, adaptation, or acceptance, so we could say that this is about a territorialization of global forces through tourism.
