Abstract

A statistical and descriptive assessment is made of some of the crimes registered by the National Police in the Colombian territory in 2013, along with a comparison between 2012 and 2013 of the most shocking criminal behaviors affecting citizen coexistence and security. In the face of some increasing crime figures in 2013, it can be said that this is due to higher citizen confidence reflecting on a larger number of complaints and better coverage of their reception and of the growing daily levels of urban criminality due to the mutation of some criminal behaviors and the perpetrators.
