Abstract

MARQUEZ ESTRADA, José Wilson. Child sexual violence in the colombian Caribbean: departments of Cordoba and Sucre (2015). Rev. logos cienc. tecnol. [online]. 2022, vol.14, n.3, pp.86-100.  Epub Nov 12, 2022. ISSN 2145-594X.  https://doi.org/10.22335/rlct.v14i3.1622.

The objective of this article is to analyze the information related to a series of crimes of child sexual violence perpetrated against children in the colombian caribbean, specifically in the departments of córdoba and sucre, which occurred in the first half of 2015 and which appear in the newspapers El Universal de Cartagena, El Meridiano de Cordoba and El Meridiano de Sucre, to identify the most relevant characteristics in relation to the classification of the crime, the criminal conduct, the social context, the circumstances, the manner and the place where the events occurred. Methodology: a selection of news items (17) from the referenced newspapers was made and, simultaneously, bibliographic information on the subject was reviewed. Results: it was found that the abusers' ages ranged from 15 to 74 years, their occupation was varied (public transport drivers, masonry helpers, farmers and teachers). The relationship with the victim was found to be stepdaughter, daughter, niece, neighbor and student, with ages ranging from 1 to 13 years. In conclusion, it is shown that the family and neighborhood environment is the scenario par excellence for the commission of this type of crime, where minors are vulnerable to sexual predators.
