Abstract
REYES PINEDA, H; RODRIGUEZ, J. A and CARDONA HERNANDEZ, L. C. Lignin Electrotransformation Analysis in Bamboo "Angustifolia Kunth" from the Colombian Quindío Department. Ciencia en Desarrollo [online]. 2015, vol.6, n.1, pp.55-60. ISSN 0121-7488.
Guadua Angustifolia Kunth as any other plant species, is rich in cellulose, lignin and other chemicals. This study focuses on the use of lignin which is approximately 30 % of the plant, looking for its possible electrochemical transformation into simpler molecules. To this end we used the bamboo provided by the Autonomous Regional Corporation of Quindío (CRQ), from its "National Center for the Study of Bamboo-Guadua". The samples were conditioned and the necessary digestions were performed, in order to separate the lignin from its other components. The lignin analysis treated by the electrochemical reactor, showed its possible electrotransformation, by using the IR spectroscopy and the voltammetry to see its viable structural changes.
