Abstract

RODRIGUEZ, María Florencia. Pandemic and University. The Territorial Role of UNPAZ. Territ. [online]. 2023, n.49spe, 12854.  Epub Feb 04, 2024. ISSN 0123-8418.  https://doi.org/10.12804/revistas.urosario.edu.co/territorios/a.12854.

This paper deals with the role of a public university located in the second cordon of Greater Buenos Aires: The National University of José C. Paz (UNPAZ). The objective of the work is to address the experience of UNPAZ, its actions, interventions and articulations with the different levels of statehood in the context of the pandemic in José C. Paz, one of the municipalities with the highest levels of impoverishment and vulnerability. On the one hand, the support and accompaniment strategies of the university to the student community are addressed in order to promote the continuity of the course, and on the other, the specific actions in socio-sanitary matters aimed at the entire La Paz community. Thus, the university is understood not only as a physical installation in a place, but as a central component as an urban facility and a social agent with implications for the local territory and in relation to its community.

Keywords : Pandemic; university; socio-territorial intervention.
