Abstract
BARRIENTOS M, Jorge; MOLINA G, Carlos and SALINAS, Daniel. The causes of domestic violence in Medellin. Perf. de Coyunt. Econ. [online]. 2013, n.22, pp.99-102. ISSN 1657-4214.
In this paper we are interested in investigating the determinants of domestic violence. For this goal, we consider that many intra-household choices (on good consumption or choices among a set of alternatives) taken by single individuals produces negative externalities and conflict, which may generates events of violence. In addition, by performing discrete choice models, we show that socioeconomic factors like alcohol consumption and leisure (among others) increases the probability of events of violence.
