Today, taking pictures has become a daily process facilitated by the popularization of technology, as opposed to how slow it was in the past. Either way, this human manifestation is positioned as part of the historical memory of a society. But, how are photography and historical memory linked to determine its importance and choose its conservation? This is precisely the question that will be tried to answer in the analysis that follows. It is concluded that photography plays a prominent role as a historical memory that affects the collective imagination and serves as visual evidence that deserves to be preserved in archives.
