Abstract

The article presents the results of interviews conducted with 1,207 women concerning their perception of the most common symptoms associated with menstruation and prohibitions related to this physiological phenomenon. It depicts current magical beliefs, either beneficial (healing powers) or negative ones (morbid powers), in each person receiving menstrual blood, whether spread over their body or ingested.
