A five year old boy previously healthy dies as a consequence of a dengue hemorrhagic fever-associated fulminant myocarditis. DEN 1 was showed in the liver tissue by RT-PCR. To our knowledge this is the first case of fulminant myocarditis during the course of dengue virus infection in Neiva, Colombia.
