Abstract

The radio serial "De leer, un viaje por la promoción de la lectura" is presented as a product derived from an applied research project carried out under the cultural and educational radio format by the Escuela Interamericana de Bibliotecología and the Dirección de Regionalización of the Universidad de Antioquia. The radio serial consists of 16 programs, which deal with topics such as reading, reader, libraries, and mainly, reading promotion. It is addressed to all the people participating in the social education of readers; that is, parents, teachers, librarians, and other cultural workers from the different regions of Antioquia (Colombia). The goal of the project was to work for the accomplishment of one of the most important tasks of the Universidad de Antioquia, that is, the social projection to better the education quality, with special consideration of the regions of Antioquia. Firstly, this paper shows a brief explanation of the problem. Secondly, it describes the target audiences of the radio serial as well as its educational components, methodology, pedagogical principles, and its impact measurement indicators.
