Abstract

BRIONES PENALVER, Antonio Juan  and  CEGARRA NAVARRO, Juan Gabriel. Dynamic perspective of relational capital in MSMEs due to supervision by the CKO. Cuad. Adm. [online]. 2007, vol.20, n.34, pp.115-137. ISSN 0120-3592.

Of the diverse profiles required for implementing knowledge management, perhaps the most important is the Chief Knowledge Officer (CKO). That person is in charge of creating a knowledge management infrastructure, leading it, and building a knowledge culture. After applying a logistical polytomic regression model to 88 MSMEs, this article analyzes the influence that the figure of CKO has over creating relational capital (RC). The main conclusions drawn indicate that, although it is true that systemized knowledge in the form of agreements has a positive influence on the first levels of RC, it is also true that it will have trouble reaching the advanced levels of RC if the CKO does not inculcate values in the stakeholders, such as trust, mutual benefit, and commitment.

Keywords : Relational capital; Chief Knowledge Officer (CKO); corporate knowledge management team; MSME.
