Abstract

VELEZ, Juan Carlos. Theory of Mind and Intentional Strategy. Prax. filos. [online]. 2008, n.26, pp.63-82. ISSN 0120-4688.

Currently, there is a rising interest about debates on cognitive differences and similaties between man and animals. Some researchers, based on anthropocentristic approaches, highlight the diffrences; some others do the same with similarities. the way the debate is approached if has connotations on philosophy, especifically on mind philosophy .we will focus on some of the most well-known simililarities on cognitive ethology studies and itis philosophy, secondly, I´ll talk about the most important feature of “mind theory” , just like the way it was conceived initially, then the on-going origins of this and it´s relation with social behavior; finally I´ll state the theory of “intentional strategy “ the way it was developed by Daniel Dennett and it´s relation with thought.

Keywords : Theory of the mind; intentional Strategy; thought; knowledge; mental states; evolution.
