Abstract

GUTIERREZ RUBIO, Enrique. REALITY, REALITY SHOW AND FICTION: AN ANALYSIS OF SPANISH PHRASEOLOGY IN THREE INFORMAL COMMUNICATIVE CONTEXTS. Linguist.lit. [online]. 2020, n.77, pp.347-369.  Epub Oct 28, 2021. ISSN 0120-5587.  https://doi.org/10.17533/udea.lyl.n77a15.

This research sought to reveal the configuration of Spanish phraseology documented in conversations obtained from three types of informal oral discourse: reality, reality show and fiction. For this purpose, the general frequency of use, the typological distribution and the stylistic marks of 5,000 words obtained from three oral sources were analyzed: the oral corpus Val.Es.Co., the reality show Big Brother and the television series Cuéntame cómo pasó. The results confirm that, in general, the conversations collected in Val.Es.Co. and in Big Brother show that, unlike Cuéntame cómo pasó, of a relatively similar phraseology.

Keywords : Spanish phraseology; oral corpus; informal register; Big Brother; Cuéntame cómo pasó.
