Abstract

GARCIA-GOMEZ, Mario et al. Without elevation, there may also be occlusion. Rev. Colomb. Cardiol. [online]. 2022, vol.29, suppl.4, pp.25-29.  Epub Dec 20, 2022. ISSN 0120-5633.  https://doi.org/10.24875/rccar.m22000188.

In light of an acute chest pain and evidence of ST-segment elevation, an emergent reperfusion treatment should be started with the objective of opening the occluded artery and reducing myocardial damage, thus, improving the patients´s prognosis. Therefore, it is mandatory to keep in mind those high-risk electrical patterns equivalent to a ST-segment elevation and indicative of an acute coronary occlusion to avoid an unacceptable delay in the times of action, such was the case that is reported.

Keywords : Myocardial infarction; The De Winter pattern; Infarction code; Acute coronary occlusion.
