Abstract
IDROVO, Víctor and CASAS, Noemí. Hepatic disorders in patients with Rheumatic Diseases. Rev Col Gastroenterol [online]. 2008, vol.23, n.4, pp.343-346. ISSN 0120-9957.
The association between liver diseases and rheumatic diseases is clearly defined. This association can be classified in three groups: Liver disease associated to rheumatic disease. Isolated liver disease, with concomitant hepatic disease. Hepatic liver injury associated to medications for rheumatic disorders. In most of the cases the liver disorder is mild, and is related histologically to subtle non-specific findings or to fatty liver. Significant liver disease in the rheumatic population is related to concomitant liver disorders such as viral hepatitis o alcohol disease, or related to drug hepatotoxicity. The following review shows a report of these cases between 2004 and 2006 at two medical centers and from the personal practice of a Hepatology and a rheumatology clinic.
Keywords : Hepatitis; hepatic failure; arthritis; biliar cirrosis; hepatotoxicity; autoinmunity.
