The present document explores the degree of acceptance for tropical flowers in certain markets in terms of targeting economically viable market segments and proposes producing ornamental tropical species. Surveying florists in Bogotá, Medellín and Bucaramanga provided the primary source of information. Secondary sources included data-bases regarding exports from Colombia and Antioquia's Secretariat of Agriculture documentation regarding producers in that department
