Abstract The objective of this study was to analyze the evolution and dynamics of agricultural production in the municipality of Ituiutaba (MG), highlighting the importance of rice cultivation between 1930 and 2010 and the main conditions for the insertion of new crops. The work carried out involved the design of a theoretical framework, including fieldwork, collection and tabulation of census data, and charting the evolution of agricultural production on graphs. The results of the study made it possible to evaluate the agricultural production trends in Ituiutaba, thus making it possible to visualize the importance of rice crops at certain times and understand the current reality of agrarian space.
