LABIGALINI FUINI, Lucas. Theoretical Constructions on Territory and its Transition: the Contribution of Brazilian Geography. Cuad. Geogr. Rev. Colomb. Geogr. [online]. 2017, vol.26, n.1, pp.221-242. ISSN 0121-215X.  https://doi.org/dx.doi.org/10.15446/rcdg.v26n1.56791.

Abstract The territory is one of the fundamental concepts of geographical science. Currently, it is increasingly present in academic work which explains, in different ways, how society controls, appropriates and produces space by means of multidimensional and multiscale determinants. In this article, we examine in detail the characterization that the concept of territory acquired in the scientific geography of Brazil in the period of transition from Modernity to Postmodernity (from the late 1970s to the current period), seeking to explore this idea in its political, economic, social, cultural and didactic-pedagogic nature.

Keywords : de/re-territorialization; geographical thought in Brazil; Postmodernity; territoriality; territory.
