Abstract

This article is the result of a question about how to understand practice from the sys-tematization of experiences. Although it is a concept that appears as a central aspect in its foundation, it is also true that it takes a secondary place in the debate proposed from the western epistemological matrix. In order to answer this question, the article describes the tension between theoretical logic-bound to thought and reasoning-and practical logic-associated with action-which goes through the debates of social sciences and which can be traced back to the Greeks until present times. We can conclude that it is exactly in that tension where the systematization of experiences, as a qualitative research modality, establishes several methodological challenges that suppose a break with the traditional concept of knowledge and with the idea of practice as a source of knowledge and know-how.
