Abstract

ROCHA, María Milagros. Notes to Think about Masculinities in the Teaching of History. Pedagogía y Saberes [online]. 2022, n.56, pp.97-110.  Epub Sep 25, 2022. ISSN 0121-2494.  https://doi.org/10.17227/pys.num57-13934.

This work analyzes what gendered voices and what masculinities prevail in the teaching of history, and investigates various documents (Study Plans, programs, Curriculum Designs) from the end of the 19th century, the beginning of the 20th century, and the 21st century, in Argentina. The documents consulted so far allow us to identify the protagonism of hegemonic masculinity (Connell, 1997), a low presence of women, together with the incorporation in recent years of other male subjects (in a certain way also dominant) before the entrance of "history from below". The aim is to definitively problematize the curriculum as a cultural, historical, gendered, and situated artifact, as well as to identify which historical subjects are highlighted and named in the sources.

Keywords : history teaching; curriculum; masculinities; disciplinary code.
