Abstract
BECERRA, Erika Macias; ORDONEZ, Laura and PATINO, Edna Fresneda. An Uncomfortable Truth "MatEcoTierra": Classroom Pedagogical Project developed with students for math teacher. Rev. Fac. Cienc. Tecnol. [online]. 2022, n.51, pp.243-260. Epub Oct 21, 2021. ISSN 0121-3814.
This article presents the development of the pedagogical classroom project "Una Verdad Incómoda: MatEcoTierra", carried out with students of the Bachelor of Mathematics, of the Francisco José de Caldas District University. The objective of this pedagogical classroom project focused on studying a social situation of the environment related to the impact of environmental pollution, based on mathematics, to generate a critical vision and a socio-environmental awareness in students in training. This project is based on the sociopolitical approach of Critical Mathematical Education, developed from the five phases proposed from mathematical modeling as a methodological strategy, to give rise to the planning of each of these, its development, the analysis of the results obtained, and the conclusions that aroused the work carried out. The discussion and analysis that enables the development of this project is fundamental in the process of training future math teachers since it is important to reflect on different pedagogical practices that can be implemented in the classroom as a didactic strategy to generate changes in the usual routine of the math class. In this training process, it is essential to recognize that mathematics becomes a powerful tool, which allows us to read and understand critically social and environmental situations of the context, to take attitudes of transformation that generate awareness in the being and make every day.
