Abstract

CORTES MENDOZA, Rosa Araceli  and  FLORES ZAMBADA, Ricardo. Knowledge workers: predictors of added value for an organization. Innovar [online]. 2010, vol.20, n.36, pp.107-124. ISSN 0121-5051.

In a convenient sample of 220 knowledge workers, the multi-variant relationship between motivation, learning, thinking and listening, handling information, attitudes, and the level of knowledge of the added value variable was explored. The structural model that was found provides an acceptable representation along with empirical evidence regarding some of the values that the literature proposes within the profile of the knowledge worker, and how these directly and indirectly influence their added value. This last aspect is very important and it was found that there are intrapersonal and attitudinal characteristics that favor the generation of knowledge and its use to create value.

Keywords : Knowledge worker; structural equations; adding value; motivation; attitudes; style of learning; style of thinking; style of listening; handling information.
