Abstract

GARZON MARTINEZ, María Teresa et al. "No war in my name": feminism and cultural studies in latin america. Nómadas [online]. 2014, n.40, pp.159-173. ISSN 0121-7550.

Using a suspicion based methodology, the paper proposes an interested, limited, contextualized analysis in which the intersection between feminism and cultural studies in Latin America is examined in order to contribute to the discussion over the production of knowledge and the intervention in subordinate countries, as well as over the responsibility held by women who consider themselves feminists, and whose locus of enunciation is the rapport between culture and power. From this point of view are state as being in force intellectual practices in which social transformation constitutes both the beginning and the end.

Keywords : feminism; cultural studies; Latin America; knowledge; intervention; culture.
