Abstract

PALENCIA SANCHEZ, Francisco. Critical reflexion about the current approach to adverse event in Colombia. Revista médica Risaralda [online]. 2014, vol.20, n.1, pp.34-40. ISSN 0122-0667.

Patient safety is a topic of growing interest in health care, and to discuss it in health services or within the academy, mentioned the influence of science concepts of industrial safety, so nonspecific used in high-risk activities such as air transport, among others. But the reality is that many of these concepts have insufficient adaptation in practice in the first instance, maybe due to ignorance of technical concepts that are involved in the provision of health services because the problem has not been approached from a broad perspective, which may require interdisciplinary and trans-disciplinary look from various disciplines. In order to reflect on the problem above stated, will be approached the problem from several points of view: 1) the economic sciences, 2) the role of health and safety at work and its influence on safety patient and 3) the vision of the concepts from the legal science by the legal implications that may generate adverse events.

Keywords : patient safety; adverse effects; Outcome Assessment (Health Care); Colombia.
