Abstract

This article presents the results of the research carried out on the subject of ethnographic design of the Social Work career in the Universidad del Valle, Colombia, on the impacts of the pandemic and confinement by COVID-19 in the areas of family life and erotic-affective behavior students of social work of the University. It shows how in these areas’ violence occurred in the processes of social interaction between those who converged in a domestic unit. In the same way, it describes the coping strategies that were deployed in the three areas mentioned above.

The document is structured in five sections: initially, general comments are presented on the research carried out; then, the methodology with which the investigative process was carried out; thirdly, the theoretical references; then the findings and finally the conclusions. Thus, this article contributes to the knowledge of the multiple affectations caused by the pandemic and the confinement of young people, university students, their experiences, and how they deployed different strategies to address these affectations. Among the findings are the high impacts on the coexistence of families, the loss of physical interactions between couples, and the emergence and deepening of situations.
