Abstract
POLANIA-TALAGA, Andrés Felipe and BOTERO-CAICEDO, Yuli Andrea. The walk of a warrior people: Facts that marked the history of the Nasa ethnic group from the reservation of Corinto, Cauca. Anu.hist.reg.front. [online]. 2023, vol.28, n.2, pp.369-400. Epub July 21, 2023. ISSN 0122-2066. https://doi.org/10.18273/revanu.v28n2-2023014.
The current peaceful resistance of the Nasa people in the department of Cauca, Colombia, has its roots long ago. From the time of colonization and up to the present, it has resisted aggression, foreign diseases, discredit, discrimination, invisibility, massacres, selective assassinations, deceit and offenses, being insufficient to decimate the combative spirit of an entire ethnic group. Faced with this struggle of more than five centuries, the present qualitative research with a hermeneutical design aims to discover the events that marked the history of the Nasa indigenous community. At first, those historical events that are documented are shown. Next, with the voices of the Corinto Páez community, Cauca, those other facts that are not registered are presented. It is concluded that the social structures of this ancestral people at an economic, cultural, political, warrior, community and organizational level are what have allowed them to survive until today’s sun.
