Abstract

VALDES CUERVO, Ángel Alberto; CARLOS MARTINEZ, Ernesto Alonso  and  TORRES ACUNA, Gisela Margarita. Differences in socioeconomic status, climate and family adjustment of students with and without reports bullying. Psicol. caribe [online]. 2012, vol.29, n.3, pp.616-631. ISSN 0123-417X.

A quantitative trans-sectional study was made in order to establish the family-related variables that distinguish a group of students who reported violent behaviors towards their classmates at school in contrast to those who do not show such behavior. 937 students from ten State public secondary education schools participated in the study. These were divided into two groups according to having or not reported violent behavior towards their classmates at school. The outcomes evidenced that familiar variables such as socioeconomic situation, familiar adjustment, coexistence and conflict level, distinguished both groups of students. This shows the importance of study of the familiar context when comprehending the violent behavior on teenagers in schools.

Keywords : Family; familiar climate; school violence.
