Abstract

QUESSEP TAPIAS, Ivon P.; HERNANDEZ FLOREZ, Angélica M.  and  MONTES ROTELA, Marivel. Relationship between basics learning devices and the academic performance in third grade students of primary education. Psicol. caribe [online]. 2019, vol.36, n.1, pp.61-81. ISSN 0123-417X.  https://doi.org/10.14482/psdc.36.1.370.1.

The aim of this study was to analyze the relationship between basic learning devices (DBA) and academic performance (DA) of the third-grade students of School E. B. P San José de Sincelejo. It was used: Test of auditory and visual continuous performance, curve verbal memory and non-drive, auditory and visual screening, questionnaire of motivation, non-participant observation, an analysis documentary to measure the DBA, and the periodic report notes to measure the DA. The sample consisted of 79 students; statistical data analysis was performed using the statistical package SPSS Statistic, 64-bit edition, version 23.0.0.0 and Statistical Package Statgraphics Centurion XVII. The results showed that the association between the variables in the study population is not statistically significant, with greater strength to explain the variable DA "course or grade level", showing prediction model that placed students in courses 3rd 2, 3rd 5, and 3rd 1, aged between seven and eight years, the DA would be potentially better. Contrary to the statistical analysis, qualitative data showed a relationship between variables, especially between attention and motivation with academic performance.
