Abstract

LOPEZ POSADA, LAURA MARCELA  and  CALDERON HERNANDEZ, GREGORIO. ANÁLISIS DE LAS DINÁMICAS CULTURALES AL INTERIOR DE UN CLÚSTER EMPRESARIAL. estud.gerenc. [online]. 2006, vol.22, n.99, pp.13-37. ISSN 0123-5923.

The business clusters have constituted themselves in mechanisms to impel the competitiveness of sectors in regions and traditionally have been analyzed from the economic perspective (because its contribution to the macroeconomic variables), but for its consolidation every business conglomerate requires the understanding of social, cultural and political relationships. It becomes dificult to study these relationships from the perspective of traditional organizational theories such as the structuralism or the contingency theory, and it is necessary to appeal to other perspectives such as the sociological neoinstitutionalism, perspective that it´s used in the present research. The research in which this article is based was made in a sector considered as dynamic one for the "eje cafetero" region, that is the tools sector; the research was focused on a qualitative perspective through the application of two semi-structured interviewing guides (which were applied to thirty business of the productive chain and to nine support entities), the use of field journey and the analysis of documentary sources. It is concluded that in the cluster predominates the individualism, the distrust and the absence of identificatory elements; simultaneously there are strong commercial bonds and practices that have been institutionalized by isomorphic processes.

Keywords : Cultural dynamics; business conglomerates; neo-institutionalism; cultural manifestations.
