Abstract
VARELA, RODRIGO and BEDOYA ARTURO, OLGA LUCíA. MODELO CONCEPTUAL DE DESARROLLO EMPRESARIAL BASADO EN COMPETENCIAS. estud.gerenc. [online]. 2006, vol.22, n.100, pp.21-47. ISSN 0123-5923.
The entrepreneurial training is a process which is associated with a large number of social, cultural, psychological and economic variables that contribute specific knowledge to the development of a number of competences that aim to maximize the probability of prospective entrepreneurs becoming successful individuals who are able to generate wealth and social development throughout their lives. The main purpose of this research was to propose a business training model that takes into account the evolution of a typical business career. Several ideas from the general theory of entrepreneurship were used well as well as the experience that the CDEE (Entrepreneurship Center) has gained throughout 21 years of work in this field with different target audiences. As a result of this analysis, this research proposes a business training approach based on two different kinds of competences. On one hand, there are cognitive competences which are related with the knowledge needed to conduct business. Personal competences, on the other hand, include skills, behaviors, attitudes and values that individuals need in order to become successful in business throughout their lives. This approach also consists of the following six stages: i) entrepreneur ship training; ii) training in the generation and evaluation business ideas; iii) assessing business opportunities; iv) preparing a business plan; v) business start-up; and vi) business growth and development. Each of these stages involves a training process that make use of specially allocated resources. Each of these stages is closely interrelated with all of the others.
