Abstract

CARRION, Andrea; ARAUZ, Elizabeth  and  GONZALEZ, Daniela. Gender Perspective in Urban and Socio-Environmental Studies: A Comparative Analysis of Graduate Programs at FLACSO Ecuador. Territ. [online]. 2021, n.44spe, pp.93-114.  Epub June 30, 2022. ISSN 0123-8418.  https://doi.org/10.12804/revistas.urosario.edu.co/territorios/a.9092.

Mainstreaming gender is a relevant analytical and pedagogical tool for urban and socio-environmental studies. This paper describes the regulations, the advances, and the intensity in integrating the gender perspective in three graduate programs of FLACSO Ecuador. The research is based on the meso and micro curricular levels, including an analysis of the academic projects, the syllables, and the research outputs of the latest academic cohorts. The results demonstrate four levels for mainstreaming gender: formal, curricular, substantive, and from below. The theoretical, methodological, and pedagogical asymmetries among these programs provide clues to design teaching strategies for the problematization, investigation, and construction of inclusive territories.

Keywords : Gender; higher education; urban studies; socio-environmental studies.
