Abstract

BENAYAS, GRECIA. Digital Public Diplomacy in Mexico and Chile. Desafíos [online]. 2021, vol.33, n.1, pp.42-72.  Epub Dec 09, 2021. ISSN 0124-4035.  https://doi.org/10.12804/revistas.urosario.edu.co/desafios/a.8345.

This article analyses the functioning of digital public diplomacy in Mexico and Chile. The methodology used was qualitative and comparative. The two countries have a presence in cyberspace, both in web pages and social media. The Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs is very active on social media, while the Chilean Foreign Ministry developed a presence in cyberspace later, but progressively it is positioning itself with an agenda that emphasises its major foreign policy issues. Interaction is the aspect that has less development in both cases.

Keywords : Digital public diplomacy; Mexico; Chile; technology.
