Abstract
ACEVEDO, Christian; PARAMO, Dagoberto and RODRIGUEZ, Gustavo. Export Market Orientation of Small and Medium Enterprises in the Department of Atlántico, Colombia. rev.univ.empresa [online]. 2018, vol.20, n.34, pp.127-156. ISSN 0124-4639. https://doi.org/10.12804/revistas.urosario.edu.co/empresa/a.5213.
The findings of a study to measure the degree of export market orientation of small exporting companies in the Department of Atlántico are described. The theoretical basis lies with the concepts of market orientation (MO) and export market orientation (EMO). A quantitative, descriptive, and non-experimental field study was developed. A questionnaire comprising 66 Likert-type statements was applied to a sample of 35 companies. A principal component analysis (PCA) and a cluster analysis were developed through SPSS-21 software. A medium to medium-high degree of EMO was found for the entire sample, with significant differences between dimensions. Based on these differences, and based on levels of EMO audacity and EMO order, companies were classified into three groups: timid companies, enthusiastic companies, and on-track companies.
