Metropolitan areas in Mexico have acquired a new economic structure led by commercial and service, which has been strengthened by the decentralization of population and economic activities that promote development and economic competitiveness in peripheral areas, in this interested in analyzing the context of the tertiary structure of Toluca Metropolitan Area (ZMT), in order to identify changes experienced by the spatial organization of tertiary activities, with emphasis on retail trade.
