Abstract

GUGLIELMUCCI, Ana. Historias Desobedientes. Memories of Children and Grandchildren of Perpetrators of Crimes against Humanity in Argentina. Rev. colomb. antropol. [online]. 2020, vol.56, n.1, pp.15-44. ISSN 0486-6525.  https://doi.org/10.22380/2539472x.1045.

In Argentina, children and grandchildren of police and military who were denounced and prosecuted for committing crimes against humanity created a collective called Historias Desobedientes (Disobedient Histories). This group has promoted the claim of truth and justice by reaffirming that their parents and grandparents committed genocide and have never regretted what they have done. This paper analyzes the personal and collective actions of these actors to detach themselves from their parents, as well as the political, legal and academic debates that they have generated in the public sphere. Based on the examination of social situations and public testimonies, we reflect on how their actions have questioned family memories and the social legacy of the perpetrators.

Keywords : perpetrator; crime against humanity; legacy; memory.
