Abstract

SOLANO-MENESES, Eska Elena. Symbolic Rhetoric in the Architectural Space: An Anthropological View of House in the Supermodernity. Rev. Arquit. [online]. 2018, vol.20, n.2, pp.51-61. ISSN 1657-0308.  https://doi.org/10.14718/revarq.2018.20.2.1848.

The objective of this research work is to analyze the symbolic aspects in the supermodern house, as well as to propose a methodology with anthropic variables for said analysis. It is based on the idea of the house as a cellular anthropological space. It is the minimum space in which man develops, generally resolved architecturally in terms of aesthetics and function. An anthropological approach, has not been addressed from the architecture, rather, this approach has been limited and transgressed, causing a crisis in the inhabited spaces. The methodological proposal of ethnographic approach, is based on an anthropological dimension of the spaces, through the inclusion of architectural design variables that arise from the analysis of the Maslow pyramid. It is concluded that aspects such as self-realization, security and belonging, to name a few, are violated with the current architectural approaches, situation that affects the symbolic sense of the supermodern house.

Keywords : Architecture; house; space; ethnography; basic needs.
