The aim of this article is to describe and discuss the dental approach and intervention in autistics, as the engagement of the family and oral health professionals in this subject. It is believed that the principles of basic attention may be applied in autistics and a protocol of autistics dental care is suggested, directed to practice in public health services. Thus the need of new questionings in order to increase the quality of the dentistry attention to the autistic patient, especially in the Unified Health System and particularly in the Family Health Strategy, in the attendance of this vulnerable population with a bioethics focus.
