Abstract

PABLO-BASCOLO, Ernesto. The Interaction Between Research and the Processess of Implementation of Health Policies in Latin America. Rev. Gerenc. Polit. Salud [online]. 2010, vol.9, n.19, pp.12-19. ISSN 1657-7027.

The use of research results in health policies is a challenge of the health care systems. In Latin America, the reforms performed to the health care systems have relevant political and institutional implications. Wide varieties of conceptual models analyze this problem and propose strategies to improve the use of scientific evidence in decisions that integrate formulation and integration of health policies. Those models recognizing researchers and decision makers as actors -not passive-neutral subjects- show usefulness to formulate collaborative strategies -with influence in the development of technical and political capabilities- necessary to guarantee effectiveness and sustainability of reform policies of the health care systems.

Keywords : health policy; policy making; use of scientific information for health decision making.
