Abstract

ESQUIVEL CORONADO, Jessica. A proposed development on the banks of the river Rimac (left bank) at the end of XIX century: In a context of urban renewal and housing activity. Apuntes [online]. 2010, vol.23, n.2, pp.162-181. ISSN 1657-9763.

This event created a real estate business and interests in buying lands of this area, but the activity continued in spite of the interruption caused by the Pacific War. In 1890, The interest of the Railway Company in buying these lands caused that the urban renewal works being done ,continued their improvement process with the support of a private enterprise, in exchange of this the town council would give some of their lands located on the left bank of Rimac River. This study analizes the ingenieer's Felipe Arancivia proposal for water distribution of Rimac River and its later urbanization from Balta bridge to bridge of Stone, in the middle of a context of human renewal and real estate activity in the city periphery.
