Abstract

The text analyzes the sentences of the Constitutional Court (1992 - 2006) that have constructed the concept of the right to the freedom of expression. The concrete questions that it tries to solve are the following ones: how has been understood by the Constitutional Court the right to the freedom of expression? How has been defined? What characteristics does it have? In what scenarios has it been developed? And, finally, which are the limits that the constitutional jurisprudence has indicated to the right to the freedom of expression? At a first moment, therefore, the text develops the definition and characteristics that, according to the Constitutional Court, has the right to the freedom of expression? At a first moment, therefore, the text develops to the definition and characteristics that according to the Constitutional Court the right to the freedom of expression has. Later, the scenarios in which the constitutional jurisprudence has developed the mentioned right are indicated. This description is made with base in two criteria: a) the content of which is expressed and b) the means through the expression is made. Finally the conclusions of the investigation are presented.
