Abstract

VERGARA DIAZ, Jairo Miguel  and  AGUDELO TORO, Andrés Yovanny. DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION OF A COMMUNICATION SYSTEM BASED ON CAN FOR AVIONICS IN A ROBOT MINI-HELICOPTER. Rev. ing. univ. Medellin [online]. 2007, vol.6, n.11, pp.209-221. ISSN 1692-3324.

This paper presents the design of the internal communication system for avionics of a robot mini-helicopter based on the CAN distributed architecture. The communication system involves several hardware and software aspects related to data exchange on avionics bus from sensors and actuators with the flight computer. The main characteristic of the architecture is scalability in the addition of new devices, maintaining time requirements for data acquisition. Results of data exchange on the avionics network showing the reached operating update rates for each node are shown.

Keywords : Avionics; CAN; Control; UAV.
