PONCE-LARA, Camila. Political socialization in the classroom: A comparative study of french and chilean mobilizations. Rev.latinoam.cienc.soc.niñez juv [online]. 2013, vol.11, n.2, pp.603-615. ISSN 1692-715X.
Abstract (analytical): During 2006 and 2008 the young secondary school students from Chile and France mobilized to defendand improve the quality of education. The objective of this article is to analyze both mobilizations and the factors that influence the construction of political identity, political orientations, the role of high school as a political socializer, as well as the importance of political socializations. A quantitative, descriptive methodology of exploratory character was used and also a qualitative methodology. The results demonstrate that the Chilean students unlike the French, present difficulties when it comes to identifying themselveswith political parties although they present defined political values. In like manner, the primary socialization imposes itself among the students and the role of high school is fundamental to mobilize them and to strengthen political ties. Furthermore, this article contributes to comparative research of student movements in divergent social configurations.
