Abstract

NOGUEIRA-DA SILVA COSTA, Bruno  and  FORTUNATO-COSTA, Liana. The sexual offender teenager, both perpetrator and victim: el adolescente que cometió delito sexual. Rev.latinoam.cienc.soc.niñez juv [online]. 2013, vol.11, n.2, pp.633-645. ISSN 1692-715X.

Abstract (analytical): This is a qualitative research, more concretely one of a case study, about a 14-year old, who was studying in the sixth grade of primary school and committed sexual abuse against his brother. The objective of the study was to deepen the understanding of the dynamics of sexual abuse in the situation of a teenager with a history of having lived in a shelter for children suffering from affective abandonment. The results are expected to shed light into this still little-known phenomenon in Brazil. The information was collected during a semi-structured interview, as part of a group intervention. The perspective adopted is that of the exemplarity that is characterized by an intensity of the knowledge produced and by the recognition of complexity, which evidences the ambiguities present in the discussion. The results focus the relation of abandonment experienced with their mother, the consequences of the several institutionalizations, and the potential of the resources of their environment. We found aspects that coincide with the international literature and the particularities of the Brazilian reality, mainly in the social and economic conditions.

Keywords : adolescent development; sexual abuse; case report.
