IERULLO, Martín. Care for children and adolescents in contexts of persistent urban poverty. Rev.latinoam.cienc.soc.niñez juv [online]. 2015, vol.13, n.2, pp.671-683. ISSN 1692-715X.  https://doi.org/10.11600/1692715x.1328020615.

This article problematizes the tensions and challenges in relation to parenting practices and care of children and adolescents in contexts of persistent urban poverty. These conclusions emerge from fieldwork conducted in different districts of the city of Buenos Aires, in the framework of the Piubamas Program This project combined different data collection techniques (interviews, participant observation, focus groups, etc.), which facilitated the understanding of the complexity of the object of study. The article highlights the consolidation of defensive care practices in poor neighborhoods as well as the actions conducted in the raising and care of adolescents. The author identifies the emergence of a set of parenting and care practices that go beyond the domestic sphere.
