Abstract

The following paper studies the problem associated with the inventory management, in a hospital located in Barranquilla, Colombia. The strategy proposed is based on the performance of an inventory policy (s, Q), and it is accompanied of a methodology that consists of the review of theoretical inventory models , the selection of a key products, the demand analysis for patterns identification and the formulation of a policy inventory. The evaluation of the inventory policies shows that the proposed parameters satisfy the service levels defined by the hospital.
