Abstract

VAZQUEZ-CARRAZANA, Xiomara Esther  and  MIRANDA, Gilberto José. SHARES PRICE IN BRAZILIAN AGRICULTURAL SECTOR. Dimens.empres. [online]. 2019, vol.17, n.3, pp.51-68. ISSN 1692-8563.  https://doi.org/10.15665/dem.v17i3.1665.

The objective of this article is to identify the relevant indicators to explain the shares price. The Brazilian companies belonging to the food and beverage and paper and pulp sectors that provided information for the 60 quarters within the periods 2001-2007 and 2010-2016 were used. ARIMA or Box-Jenkins models and regression models with the use of dummy variables were applied. The authors express their preference for net profit and earnings per share to make predictions, the inclusion of yield on investment in this study offers a more reliable and comprehensive result. The variables presented can be used to predict the shares price; the investment yield shows relevance over the rest of the variables in only one of the sectors studied. The change of period was found to have a significant impact on these results.

Keywords : Market capitalization; Accounting regulations; Shares price.
