Abstract

ALARCON, Sara; LOZANO, Luz María  and  SAMUDIO, Italia. The Itinerant Museum of Memory and Identity of the Montes de María (MIM): El Mochuelo as a Heterotopic Space. Eidos [online]. 2023, n.40, pp.189-215.  Epub Jan 13, 2024. ISSN 1692-8857.  https://doi.org/10.14482/eidos.40.823.446.

Heterotopia concept, defined by Michel Foucault as another space, is taken up in this article to analyze the processes of construction, management, and implementation of the Museo Itinerante de la Memoria y la Identidad de Los Montes de María, El Mochuelo (Itinerant Museum of Memory and Identity of Los Montes de María, El Mochuelo). Under the premise that the development of memorialization processes must be addressed beyond regulatory compliance by the State since these territorial memory practices in El Mochuelo subvert the statism and homogeneity with which official truths are established.

Keywords : heterotopia; El Mochuelo Itinerante de la Memoria (MIM); memory spaces; memorialization practices; Peace Agreement; transformation.
