This article presents the contributions that Social Educational Innovation (ISE) can provide as a research methodology in relation to the particular trends and features both national and international that revolve around education within the context of the 21st century. In epistemic and political terms, this methodology is framed in three categories namely the Educonstruccionism, Mode 3 of knowledge production and Educational Community Agencies. The idea is defended according to which, when developing research from this methodology, the educational act acquires greater meaning.
