This paper summarizes a series of extended education practices in the city of Medellín, Colombia. Four main issues are presented as follows: First, the concept of expanded education practice is defined. Secondly, we explore some local projects which might be considered as expanded education initiatives. Then, two other related concepts are introduced. Finally, we share some conclusions regarding this research path.
