Abstract

PARODY, Viviana. Collaborative Ethnography, Participatory Action-Research, and Radical Participation in Racialized Settings. Tabula Rasa [online]. 2022, n.43, pp.195-222.  Epub Apr 20, 2022. ISSN 1794-2489.

Drawing from ethnographic criticism of shared Afro-descendant processes, in this article I discuss the differences between participatory action-research and collaborative ethnography. To do that, firstly I delve into that ethnographic field setting up, which is given from the radical participation and performance-research. Secondly, I describe the contributions of university radio for the sake of ‘on-demand anthropology’ horizontality and political reach. I differentiate the latter from the activity carried out by organic intellectuals.

Keywords : collaborative ethnography; PAR; radical participation; ratialization; Afro-descendants.
